Well it took a while but I finally got the graduation quilt done. I do everything the last minute I guess. I thought I would have a lot of time to spare on this one I started a year ago, but just got it finished today. Her open house is on Friday, so didn’t get it done any to soon. I hope she likes it. The yellow squares are autographed by her friends. Here is the picture of it.
I was a stand in babysitter for my 5 year old grandson for two weeks. One afternoon he was terrible bored so we decided to make play dough. We happened to have the ingredients on hand that we needed to make it. The ingredients ares:
2 cups of flour
2 cups warm water
1 cup salt
2 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1Talbespoon cream of tartar
You can use food coloring or packages of kool aid to color the play dough. I used food coloring , but kool aid works best because it gives the dough a better smelling scent. The cream of tartar adds elasticity to the dough. You will want to keep this away from pets.
Mix all of the ingredients together, and stir over low heat. The dough will begin to thicken it will look like mashed potatoes. It will clump to the center, remove the pan from the heat and allow it to cool to handle. Knead the dough a little then divide it to four even pieces add the kool aid or coloring. Here is the picture of it done. Happy crafting any questions just contact me.
Well it is past time to get crafting again. So here is the shopping list of things for this project. You will need a metal washer found in the hardware store, mod podge, E-6000 glue depending on the decorations you use, hole punches, diamond glaze, scissors, necklace to put it on, paper and some decorations,Iused embossed metal hearts from making memories. Here is a picture to help you out.
First off I cut my paper the size of my washer, using my paper punches ,and mod podged it onto the washer, then I cut some small decorations out of the paper and mod podge it on the washer. Using my E-6000 glue I glued on my metal embossed heart to the washer. Then I took the diamond glaze and gently applied it to the project I didn’t apply it over the metal heart, I didn’t want a glass look over it. Then the last step is just to loop the necklace over the washer and you have the finish product. Any question please contact me, and I will try to get right back to you. Picture will be up just as soon as the Diamond glaze dries lol I keep sticking my finger in it, it is drying way to slow for me. I am sure you all know how that goes. I am one that just can’t wait!!!! Happy Crafting. Its done drying YaY here’s the picture!
I am sorry I haven’t gotten anything up for so long. I was sitting here today thinking about it, and feeling pretty guilty about it. What I was thinking about is, it is pretty soon going to be graduation time, and it is time we better be thinking what we are going to do for all our graduating seniors out there.
I have a granddaughter that is graduating and one of the gift I am going to get for her is a handmade quilt. I had her friend get autographs from all her friends, and i am going to sew it into a quilt. Another idea I have is her senior picture for all of you that have the cricut, I mod podge it onto a tile and putting different school themed items on it for her. I will publish picture of both of course. If any of you have ideas that you would like to share with us please leave me a message and I will share with everyone or if you have something you would like to have a tutorial on I will always welcome anything you would like to see done here. I can’t promise I can do it, but I will see what can be done to do it. Everyone have a happy and safe day. Happy crafting.
Sorry I haven’t gotten anything new up. We just suffered the lost of our Mother. I thought I could deal with her death, since she was ready to go, but yet I really miss her. I will work on getting something up soon.
Whew, it is about time I got something new up here. I decided I was going to do it last night and NOTHING was going to stop me!!! Well, I was wrong because I went and spent the night in the hospital, so not fun. It is amazing how many ways the doctors can come up with to stick you with a needle. I won’t complain too much, my nurses were awesome, they took very good care of me, and I did get to come home today.
OK, I am sure no one here cares, lol, you are yelling at me, come on lets see the wine glasses, so here we go. These are so simple, so simple it took me two weeks to get the candle holders and I was finally able to get someone to travel a hundred miles from me, to get the materials I ordered. The store kept promising me they would be here, Monday, on the truck. Monday would come and No candle sticks. Oh, it is hard to live in a small town. But I am sure we have all gone through this one time or another. Anyways, the supply list is short. What I am using is a 4″ candle stick holder and jelly jars; I like the looks of the jelly jars better then a ball canning jar; and then you need glue that is made for glass, I am using E-6000. Photo please!!
Glue the candlestick to the bottom of the jelly jar, using your glue’s instructions. It is important to let it sit for 24 to 48 hours before handling it, so the glue can set. Then use your imagination to make stem jewelry for it. I haven’t gotten my jewelry made yet, but there is a lot of ideas that you can do, just have fun with it. Now for the finished Redneck wine glass.
Any questions please email them to me and I will get right back to you. Have fun crafting.
Well I am yelling from the roof tops that I just opened a new shop at etsy. I have one item on it right now, so I shouldn’t yell to loud, but for me to have the courage to do it is quite an accomplishment for me. We should all challenge our self to get out of our comfort zone now and then. I have been doing that since the first of the year. I have put up the blog, and now I have the shop, we will have to see now that I carry though with them. I have enjoyed doing them, which surprises me, I really didn’t think I would have fun doing something that was going to be hard for me to do. I am sure you are asking yourself what I mean what is hard for me? I feel like I am putting myself out to everyone here, and I am shy, plus writing is very hard for me. I can talk forever, but writing is something that I have always hated to do. So while you are crafting tonight, ask yourself if you have challenged yourself this week, and if not step out and do something that will take you out of your comfort zone and improve your life. OH if you would like to see my shop here it is, I know there isn’t much there, but it is a new beginning.http://www.etsy.com/shop/CraftyBugCom
We are getting close to Valentines Day and a fun little project is taking floral marbles, and writing fun sayings under them. The supply list is mod podge, paper, scissors, magnets, glue gun, cricut, vinyl, floral marbles, tool kit, and transfer tape.
You have to have the letters as small as you can cut them and still get them off the mat. Then place them on the paper, mod podge the floral marble onto the words, let it dry. Cut out the floral marble as close as you can that there isn’t much paper showing around it, then glue the magnet onto the back of the paper with the tiniest bit of hot glue. I can’t get a good picture of it to upload for you tonight. I will have to wait for in the morning in daylight to take a picture, and then just pray it will turn out. My photography is so bad. I really did try to get a photograph tonight, but they were all so bad you couldn’t even tell what they were. Well I hope you are all having fun with your crafts. Please drop me a line and let me know what you are doing. I love hearing from you. Well I took a picture of it this morning, and it didn’t turn out much better, so I am just going to post it, sorry, but I did tell you in the beginning that I was not a photographer, now I am proving it .
Yikes it has been since Thursday since I posted something. I guess you can call it the housework got me down blues. I have really been trying to get stuff organized so that I can craft more effectually, but instead I am just going around in circles. I envy those that are so organized that just have a place for everything, besides the floor. I think I am becoming a hoarder I have to many crafts that I love to do. So I have to many stashes. But there isn’t a one that I don’t love!! Tomorrow it is off to the craft room and get my creative mind to working on a project. If there is something that someone would like to see, please drop me a line and I will see what I can do. If I don’t know how to do it, maybe I can find one of my creative friends that can do it, and would like to show us how to. In the mean time Happy crafting to all of you.
